Prior to boarding our ship at the start of our cruise, we stayed at the Hyatt which was a really nice hotel. We rented a car and drove around sight-seeing. We went to Sawgrass Mills to do some shopping, and on to a shooting range.
The Las Olas Boulevard bridge (that opens up in the middle to allow ships to pass through). It was a tad scary walking over this bridge, I kept thinking about it opening up in the middle as we walked over.
The last morning on our cruise ship:( We ate breakfast outside and went for a walk around the promenade deck one last time. Until next year!
We spotted our hotel (the Hilton) in the distance while eating our breakfast!
These next two photos are of Millionaires Row (elaborate mansions and celebrity homes)
We arrived at the Hilton which is one of my favourite hotels I have ever stayed at. It offers stunning views of Fort.Lauderdale. It is located along the waterfront where there are huge yachts parked, and you can get picked up by a water taxi to go shopping or sight-seeing. The pool is open 24 hours a day and is spectacular! The pool area is connected to a harbour where there are even more yachts parked, and is surrounded by lush greenery. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and stores, and if we take a cruise out of Fort.Lauderdale again, we will definitely stay here!
From our hotel room, we spotted our cruise ship (it was funny to think that just an hour ago, we were eating breakfast up on the ship, looking out at our hotel).
